The Honeywell 5817CB is a wireless three-zone commercial sensor with (3) programmable loops and a fourth automatically enrolled tamper loop. The first loop is supervised and normally open. Most normally open devices are wired so the 5817CB is a great option for eliminating the need to run a wire from your wired normally open device back to your wireless alarm system. You must use the included 470K ohm end-of-line resistor (EOLR) placed across the normally open wired device. This supervises the loop and if the wire is cut or the sensor removed, a loop 4 tamper will be activated. If you are using loop 1 as a burglary zone, you must have loop 4 programmed as a separate tamper zone using zone type 05 (trouble by-day/alarm by-night) to prevent loops 1, 2 and 3 from showing trouble when loop 1 has an open. If you have loop 1 programmed as a fire zone, you should not have loop 4 programmed as a separate tamper zone. You must place the resistor across loop 1 if you are not using loop 1. Loop 1 is normally used for high priority alarm reporting such as commercial fire or burglary. The second loop of the 5817CB commercial sensor is a normally closed loop that uses the internal reed switch and a magnet (not included) so that you can use the 5817CB as a wireless commercial window or door sensor. The third loop is another normally closed loop that you can wire to any normally closed wired device so that alarm signals are sent wirelessly back to your wireless alarm system. The 5817CB is a universal contact-monitoring transmitter that can be used with household and commercial fire and burglary-initiating devices.
